After a sell-out 2007, The LOVEBOX Weekender is back for an even bigger '08. London's premiere boutique festival this year is serving up a unique dazzling festival of live music, club, foodie, performance treats and much much more all for less than 40 a day - set in in 25 acres of glorious parkland The LOVEBOX Weekender will feature every musical style, from some of the biggest bands and DJs around, to the finest of Indie, Electronica, Latin, Folk, World, Dance and Soul.
Some of this year's headliners have already been announced and include Lovebox godfathers Groove Armada as well as Goldfrapp and The Flaming Lips. And joining this fabulous line up is non other than the legendary Manu Chao.
Lovebox are very proud to welcome the internationally acclaimed world music artist who has sold over 3 million records and played to crowds of 100,000 all over the world. A huge Latin American star, Manu has been described by the likes of the Daily Telegraph as 'global pop's most important star' and Lovebox will be the first time fans will be able to see him perform in London this year.
A fantastic new roll-call of talent has also just been confirmed including Frankie Knuckles, The Go! Team, Alphabeat, Roni Size, Lethal Bizzle, Midnight Juggernauts and Sebastian Tellier.
In addition to the main stages, Loveboxers will also be treated to a host of other stages and magical bespoke venues. Indie fans can mosh out at the outdoor Gaymers Great Escape Stage to the likes of The Young Knives and Lightspeed Champion.
Super-glorious concept installations come in the form of Club Cult, a unique dance music adaptation of the iconic Stanley Kubrick film Strangelove headed up by the world famous Frankie Knuckles with choreographed theatrics from Punchdrunk collaborators Gideon Reeling. The Secretsundaze arena and Mulletover arena will play host to London''s coolest and only cosmic forest party in The Stockade, a woodland fortress beneath Victoria Park''s oldest oak trees. Downtown Brooklyn also arrives in London for the weekend in the shape of a larger than life movie set reincarnation of a 1970's New York street scene. Coming complete with bars, restaurants, shops, a skateboard park and cabaret-style surprises, it's also home to the ever fierce Downlow club hosted by the legendary Horsemeat Disco arena, with very special guests to be announced.
As well as the fantastic music on offer, Lovebox presents a complete carnival of anarchic entertainment for the weekend for adults and children alike. The Fringe Stage and Kids Area provides a unique family-friendly experience inspired by the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The centre piece of the area is the very green friendly Solar powered Firefly Fringe Stage which will feature a spellbinding line-up including escapologists, acrobats, a jazz jive school and barn dancing.
The Paddock Field will play host to kids faves The Chipolatas amongst many others.
Finally the Lovebox experience would not be complete without the gastronomic nirvana that is the Metro Sourced Market, brought to you by London''s Borough Market. Offering scrumptious organic produce to eat, there will be an array of mouth-watering treats available from oysters to free range hog roast sarnies.
And LOVEBOX have spread the love with ticket prices at 38.50 for the day and 65 for the weekend.
