Entries must be received by Specsavers in Guernsey between Tuesday 1 April 2008 and Monday 30 June 2008. Only one entry per person. Only winners will be contacted personally. No purchase required. You must be aged 16 and over (and accompanied by an adult if you are under 18), resident in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man and a current specs wearer or wear glasses for fashion purposes. Entrants will be judged on their appearance in glasses and on their overall personality. Entrants who cannot attend their regional or the national final will be replaced and their prize reallocated. First prize: a one year modelling contract with MOT, an all-inclusive holiday for two in Barbados courtesy of Almond Resorts and Virgin Holidays, £250 spending money and £250 worth of hair products from Matrix and other goodies. The winner must hold a valid passport on the date of travel. The holiday is courtesy of Almond Resorts and Virgin Holidays and consists of two economy return flights from London and two weeks four-star accommodation in a standard twin or double room for two people. The all-inclusive rate includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main restaurant, selected snacks, tea and coffee from the coffee shop, drinks in the bar by the glass (on selected spirits and cocktails, beer, house wine and soft drinks). The prize offered by Almond Resorts and Virgin Holidays is subject to availability at the hotel and on flights. The prize is non-transferable, has no cash value and travel supplements, upgrades, visas and airport taxes are not included. Specsavers will provide travel insurance and £250 spending money to cover additional costs incurred. The winner will be contacted by a travel consultant at Almond Resorts and Virgin Holidays who will book the holiday on their behalf. Holiday prize is subject to availability. Must be booked by April 2009 and travel must be completed by 31 October 2009. Restrictions may apply during peak periods. The winner must hold a valid passport on the date of travel. If you do not hold a British citizen passport, you may require a visa. Second prize: a weekend break for two in Paris (including return rail travel from London and four-star accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis), plus £200 spending money, plus £100 worth of hair products from Matrix and other goodies. Third prize: a weekend break for two in London (including return rail travel and four-star accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis), plus £200 spending money, plus £100 worth of hair and beauty products from Matrix and Benefit and other goodies. All holidays subject to availability. Runners-up at the Grand Final prizes: £50 worth of hair products from Matrix and other goodies. All regional finalists will receive a Specsavers eyecare voucher worth £150 (cannot be used in conjunction with any other Specsavers offer), and a goody bag from Specsavers and Matrix. No cash alternative for any prize. Not open to employees of Specsavers, Kidscape, MOT, Tourism Almond Resorts and Virgin Holidays, Benefit and Matrix, their families or anyone professionally associated with the promotion. Ten finalists in each region will be contacted by letter in July 2008 and will be invited to attend the regional finals (see website for dates and venues), where the winners will be selected and announced by a panel of judges. Regional finalists must be available to attend the final judging, which will take place at the Waldorf Hilton Hotel in London on Tuesday 21 October 2008, where the winners will be announced. Specsavers Optical Group will pay reasonable travelling expenses to the semi-finals for each entrant. Specsavers Optical Group will pay reasonable travelling expenses and accommodation for all finalists plus one guest only for the grand final. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. Photos are not returnable. Winners will be required to participate in all post-event publicity as required by Specsavers. Specsavers reserves the right to reallocate prizes if entrants are unable to attend the finals, semi-final or breach these rules. Specsavers reserves the right to alter or substitute any of the prizes with a prize of a similar value. Winners’ names can be obtained upon request in writing from Specsavers Optical Group, La Villiaze, St Andrew’s, Guernsey, GY6 8YP. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and agree to bind by them when entering this competition.
