Persepolis is unlike most animations you will have seen. Recently nominated for an Oscar®, this visually striking film tells the poignant story of a young girl coming-of-age. Marjane’s world starts to change when, sometime before her 10th birthday, she’s forced to wear a veil. Then at 14, she’s sent away to study in Austria. Having graduated and feeling desperately homesick, she finally returns to her family, goes to art school and gets married. But the biggest change comes at 24 when Marjane realises that she can no longer live in the country that’s always been her home.
Persepolis is released in cinemas on 25 April, and to celebrate this release, myfilms is giving away, as our first prize, an exclusive still from the film which will be printed and mounted. Five runners up will each get a Persepolis graphic novel and soundtrack. Offer ends 16 May.
