Boots loophole: free nappies & vouchers

Options
LOOKS LIKE THIS OFFER IS NOW CLOSED...

OK, I know there already is a thread about Huggies trial packs, but this is such a major twist that I'm posting a separate thread so that more people can see it.

Today, the Boots Advantage Card machine was giving out vouchers for £1 off any Huggies Pull-ups. (I suspect you have to be a member of their Baby Club to get this offer ). I got 6 of those Pull-up trial packs at 98p each (each includes 2 nappies and a £1 off voucher), thinking I'd get to £5 to get a skincare voucher and decided to chance my luck with the £1 voucher from the machine (after all, it does say any pack).

What I didn't know is that the marvellous Boots tills would take £1 off every pack of Huggies... thus giving you the 98p packs for free!!! (And no, before you ask, you don't get credited the 2p... that would just be greedy :p). Luckily for me, I was buying other bits and bobs too, so the till assistant didn't realise what was going on.

I got out of the shop, read and re-read my receipt, went back in and pretty much cleared the shelf, apart from one or two packs... :o

I would strongly recommend that when taking advantage of this offer, you buy other stuff as well, so that the total bill does not come up to £0 - that'll make them query it. Also, if possible, go for a young student on the checkout.

A useful offer even for those with no babies, as you still get the £1 voucher for free and can give away the nappies. Whether childless card holders would get the voucher from the machine is a different question...

Happy hunting! :)

No voucher for me either, and I'm a member too, but I bought some anyway, since they're free.

    Thanks!

you only get the nappies voucher if previously you had used your advantage card with a nappy purchase ( possibly a make other than Huggies) in Boots? Does anyone else think this may be what happens?

Could be. I've bought Pampers, Huggies and Boots own nappies with this card, so am not surprised that it gave me a nappy voucher - on two occasions today!

It also gave me a triple points on Huggies voucher, which I was going to try to use before I knew what the tills were up to ;)
  • Noticed that there was £1 off Huggies trainers on Boots.com. Just wondering if the tills are deducting £1 off automatically too. So perhaps you may not need the voucher to get the deduction. Now that would be nice!

I've been buying these huggies trial packs for a while and you can actually use the £1 off voucher you get to buy another pack of the trial packs, I've even had this accepted in sainsbury's, who are normally strict on vouchers, i've also used it in boots, asda and various other places all against just the trial packs. Not as good as Dormouse's original post, because basically they are giving you the vouchers and the nappies and you are not spending a penny, but I'm not getting the £1 off huggies from the advantage machine.

Strange how nobody else is getting the voucher from the Advantage machine... Don't know what their logic is...

Has this worked for anyone else then, or was I just very very lucky? I'm dying to know... :)
  • Didnt work for me and I'm signed up to parenting club, but then I did get a voucher for a free pack of pantyliners when everyone else has had this twice over already and I got nothing on those times when everyone else was???
  • Thank's Dormouse,
I did get the voucher from the machine (I am a member of the boots "parenting club".) and was able to buy 10 of these trial pack for 0! :j
