Where to buy gas for gas barbecue

Hi all,
We have been given a new gas bbq as a gift and was wondering about the best/cheapest way to get gas for it. We do have a Camping Gaz bottle which we use for a camping stove for trips to France, but I thought it might be more economical in the long run to buy a new gas bottle just for the gas bbq - it's quite big so we will definitely only use it at home.
Could anyone advise on: which type of gas to go for, and where is the cheapest place to buy the initial bottle?
Thanks for any advice x

Calor do patio gas for BBQ's & outdoor heaters, it's propane & comes in a green bottle.
I don't know if this is the cheapest but this is just for you to get a rough idea & benchmark:
B&Q sell 5kg bottles; deposit £24.98 & gas £14.98 (total £39.96)
13kg; deposit £29.98 & gas £21.98 (total £51.96)
The next time you take the empty bottle back for a refill you just pay the gas price.
Don't know if the B&Q price promise applies to gas? Could be worth asking if you do find it cheaper.0 -
Speak to a Calor Gas Agent rather than Calor Gas themselves. You can find your local one on Yell.Com or the Calor Gas website:
http://www.multimap.com/clients/places.cgi?client=calor5
An Agent will normally accept any Calor Gas cylinder as a deposit, saving £29.98. You can pick one up at most Council Tips f.o.c. or through www.freecycle.org.
Whilst Calor will not move on price most of their agents will. I used www.innergylpg.co.uk, paid £19.90 for a 13kg BBQ cylinder, used a (very) old cylinder as deposit and got free delivery.
Saving £34.560 -
Also FloGas is actually cheaper than Calor so try and find a local flogas agent and your saving should be better still.0
