After last summer's terrifyingly successful Film4 FrightFest in London's Leicester Square, the UK's leading fantasy and horror festival will be returning to the Odeon West End this August Bank Holiday weekend - 21 to 25 August - for its ninth edition, bringing you another five days of premieres, previews, special guests and surprises.

We'll be bringing you regular updates about the build-up to this year's festival over the coming months, with news from the Film4 FrightFest camp about what they have in store for us in August. But in the meantime, there's a pair of exciting upcoming FrightFest events taking place in London that you won't want to miss.

On Saturday 3rd May, Film4 FrightFest hosts a special 'D-DAY' with director Neil Marshall - a special triple-bill of the British director's three feature films so far (and all of which begin with 'D'!).

This one-of-a-kind event will be centred around a Special Preview of Neil's new film DOOMSDAY, a crack sci-fi action-adventure that throws films like Escape From New York, Mad Max 2 and 28 Days Later into the genre-blender and comes up with something very tasty indeed!

DOOMSDAY will be preceded on the day by the director's first and second films Dog Soldiers and The Descent, creating a formidably fearsome line-up that confirms the filmmaker as a homegrown horror hero. He'll be there for the entire event, introducing the films, talking about them with the fans and hopefully bringing some of his faithful cast and crew members with him. The whole thing takes place at the Odeon West End in Leicester Square, bring the Film4 FrightFest back to its regular haunt.
