To celebrate the release of We Own The Night on DVD from April 28, we're giving you the chance to win one of five copies of the film.
Bobby (Joaquin Phoenix) is the popular manager of El Caribe, the legendary Russian-owned nightclub in Brooklyn's Brighton Beach. For him, every night is a party, as he greets friends and customers or dances with his beautiful Puerto Rican girlfriend, Amada (Eva Mendes), in a haze of cigarette smoke and disco music. But Bobby has a closely guarded secret which he has changed his name to conceal. His brother is Police Lieutenant Joseph Grusinsky (Mark Wahlberg), who has followed in the footsteps of their father, legendary Deputy Chief Burt Grusinsky (Robert Duvall) and together they are heading up the narcotics division of the NYPD.
New York, 1988: A new breed of narcotics sweeps the city, bringing with it a ferocious crimewave more terrifying than any in recent memory. Outmanned and outgunned by the new criminal order, the police find themselves burying one of their own at the rate of two a month, as an all-out war rages, and threatens to engulf guilty and innocent alike.
Bobby‘s strained relationship with his father and brother is further tested when they ask him for insider information, and warn him that he‘ll need to choose sides. He can no longer remain neutral when his brother is badly wounded in an assassination attempt, and Bobby discovers his father could be next. Realizing they will only be safe when they destroy Nezhinski, the ruthless Russian kingpin who is willing to silence anyone who crosses him, the two distinctly different brothers, join forces for an all–out assault. Together, they‘ll try to prove the NYPD‘s ‘80s rallying cry in the war on drugs: "We Own the Night.”
