THE Mike Smith Orchestra has a top class brass and woodwind section, classy strings plus three of the very best singers around, Catherine Sykes and Fiona Paige (The Swing Sisters) plus Matthew Ford (voted Big Band Singer of the Year), who sing chart hits of the day together with swing classics from the past.
They are in concert at The Civic, Trowbridge on Saturday May 31, and we have five pairs of tickets to give away.
The audience at the Civic Hall will enjoy a marvellous mix of music to listen to. Popular classical pieces plus pop classics from the past made famous by ABBA, the Beatles, Elvis, Frank Sinatra through to Robbie Williams, Celine Dion, Mavericks etc, with a grand finale of popular classical pieces such as The Second Waltz, Hooked on Classics, Symphony of the Seas, Orange Blossom Special etc - truly an evening of musical magic not to be missed.
The star big band regularly features on BBC Radio 2, and has made international TV appearances as well as local radio.
Fast becoming a royal favourite after appearing for the Princess Royal, Mike and the orchestra were immediately asked to guest on two further royal galas, the first for Prince Edward and the second for Prince Philip - now they're coming to Trowbridge so west Wilts audiences can enjoy their music.
