LEGOLAND Windsor brings out the hero in everyone.
There are more than 50 amazing interactive rides, attractions and live shows for the whole family to enjoy. Set in 150 acres of parkland and featuring nearly 55 million LEGO bricks, it's more fun than you can imagine for children aged three to 12 and their families.
LEGOLAND Windsor opened with seven brand new attractions for the 2008 season. At the heart of LEGOLAND lies the brand new Land of the Vikings featuring the Longboat Invader ride and the park's biggest and wettest ride, the Vikings' River Splash. Families can join the Viking fleet and explore a fantasy world inhabited by mythical sea monsters, ferocious dragons and brave Norse warriors, all created by millions of LEGO bricks.
Throughout the year there's even a top line-up of special events including the popular LEGOLAND Live! music festival, Amazing Machines weekend and spectacular firework displays. With so much to see and do there has never been a better time to visit the park and one visit really is never enough. That's why we're offering readers the chance to get their hands on a set of one day passes by entering the competition plus everyone can get a free child Basic Annual Pass worth £36.00. *
This May bank holiday thousands of children and their families will be descending on LEGOLAND Windsor to help construct the tallest LEGO brick Viking Longboat mast ever created! From Friday 2 until Monday 5 May LEGOLAND guests will have the opportunity to build a unique, individual LEGO panel to go into the Viking Longboat's mast.
The record breaking structure, positioned at the park's main entrance, is expected to contain nearly 500,000 LEGO bricks and will stand at nearly 100-feet high. Over the four days budding young builders will help construct 20cm sections at special building tables and each section will then be lifted into place by crane. The existing record for the world's tallest LEGO tower was set in Toronto in August 2007, reaching 96.1 feet (29.3 metres) tall.
Vicky Brown, general manager of LEGOLAND Windsor said: "Our building event is all about inspiring creativity and imagination. We're hoping that LEGO fans of all ages will be joining in the fun and it's a fantastic way to become a world record breaker!"
The staggeringly tall mast heralds just the beginning of another incredible Viking-themed summer at LEGOLAND Windsor. New for 2008, guests can explore the brand new Land of the Vikings, featuring the park's biggest and wettest ride to date, the Vikings' River Splash. Another exciting addition is the Longboat Invader that defies guests to test their sea worthiness as they sway back and forth on a Viking Longboat that sits on a U-shaped track and rotates in two directions.
