50 years after they first charged through the crumbling corridors of their school, the girls are back. And they’re wilder and sexier than ever before! Yes, it’s full marks to Entertainment In Video as they announce a April 14 rental, retail DVD and Blu-Ray release date for UK box office hit, St Trinian’s.
This reboot of one of our best-loved national institutions stars a veritable who’s who of acting talent. Rupert Everett takes on the dual roles of the unorthodox headmistress Camilla Fritton and her brother Carnaby Fritton. Colin Firth is Education Minister Geoffrey Thwaites; comedian Russell Brand stars as Flash Harry; Caterina Murino is languages teacher Miss Maupassant; Jodie Whittaker stars as school receptionist Beverly, while the inimitable Stephen Fry is the Quizmaster of “School Challenge”.
Mischa Barton stars as former head girl JJ; Lena Headey plays new teacher Miss Dickinson; Toby Jones is the school’s Bursar; Celia Imrie takes on the role of the Matron and Anna Chancellor plays Miss Bagstock.
A host of rising talent stars as the new breed of modern day St Trinian’s girls including Gemma Arterton, Talulah Riley, Amara Karan, singer Paloma Faith, Tamsin Egerton, Antonia Bernath, top international model Lily Cole and chart-topping quintet, Girls Aloud.
St Trinian’s, the infamous school for ‘young ladies’, is once again facing dire financial crisis. While the bank is threatening headmistress Camilla Fritton with closure, her unorthodox doctrine of free expression and self empowerment is also under threat from new Education Minister Geoffrey Thwaites. He may be an old flame of Camilla’s, but right now he’s determined to bring discipline and order to the anarchic school.
The St Trinian’s girls however are in a league of their own; smart, fearless and determined to defend to the end the school they love.
Sassy Head Girl Kelly and newcomer Annabelle pledge to join forces to raise the necessary cash. Their plan? To gather together a motley crew of teachers, the fiendishly charming Flash Harry and the resourceful and ruthless pupils to pull off the heist of the century. They’re plotting to steal the famous painting Girl With A Pearl Earring from the National Gallery, right under the noses of the authorities. But can their combined cunning, girlish wiles and total lack of shame win the day before the authorities close them down for good?
