Lipper Fund Awards 2008: Formula One Competition Terms and Conditions
1. This competition, where legal, is open to any person aged 18 and over who is a registered lipperweb member, excluding employees and their immediate families of Reuters Group or any other company professionally connected to this competition. To register, please visit https://www.lipperweb.com. 2. A person may enter the competition once and provide one answer form only. If more than one answer form is submitted from the same person, only the first entry received will be eligible for the prize, subsequent entries will be disregarded. 3. No purchase is necessary. 4. No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are delayed, corrupt, damaged or not received for whatsoever reason. 5. Reuters reserves the right to refuse any entry to the competition if the entrant does not comply with the terms and conditions of the competition or if it contravenes the spirit of the competition. By submitting an entry you are indicating you accept and will comply with the terms and conditions of the competition. 6. Entries must be submitted on the entry form available at the Lipper Fund Awards website at http://awards.lipperweb.com. Entrants grant the Reuters Group the right to use the content of the entry for its own business purposes and (except in the Netherlands and anywhere else where it is not legally acceptable) to use the applicant's name and town/city of origin in post competition publicity. 7. The closing date for entry is 20 April 2008. Entries received after this date will not be entered into the competition. 8. The judging panel will include at least one independent person. The competition is judged by an independent third party agency hired by Reuters for this purpose. 9. There will be 1 (one) winner only. The prize will be awarded to the person whose answer to the tie-breaker question is deemed by the judge to be the most appropriate answer. The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. 10. The winner will be notified by email within 7 days of the competition closing date. 11. This promotion is being run from the UK and English law applies. This promotion is void where prohibited by local law. 12. The promoter reserves the right to suspend or change this competition or substitute a prize of equal or greater value should circumstances beyond the promoter’s control make this necessary. 13. The prize is for two people to the FIA Brazilian/China/Italian Formula One World Championship Grand Prix regionally closest to your location. Once the winner is chosen, the FIA Formula One World Championship Grand Prix race is chosen by Reuters and Reuters alone. The prize includes: • Two weekend (Saturday and Sunday) Paddock Club tickets which allows access to the AT&T Williams team Paddock Club suite where lunch and refreshments will be available. Paddock Club tickets are not transferable. Children under the age of 7 are not permitted.
• One room (double occupancy) at a minimum 4 or 5 star hotel, depending on availability. Breakfast is included. Minimum 3 night stay. The accommodation shall be and will be determined by Reuters. Reuters will pay for the room and applicable taxes but not any additional costs incurred by the winner.
• Economy return flights for two people from your home location.
• Two days car hire (Saturday and Sunday) for transfers to and from the circuit.
• Not included in the prize: meals/beverages other than stated above, additional spending money, gratuity and incidental expenses. All transportation including airport, hotel and restaurant transfers will not be covered.
• Travel insurance and visas are not included and must be arranged by winner.
• Paddock Club tickets are not transferable.
• There is no cash alternative to this prize. A person located in North America is eligible for the FIA Brazilian Formula One World Championship Grand Prix. A person located in the European region is eligible for the FIA Italian Formula One World Championship Grand Prix. A person located in the Asia Pacific region is eligible for the FIA China Formula One World Championship Grand Prix. Reuters is not responsible for changes made to the dates, times and locations of the FIA Formula One Championship races and similarly Reuters is not responsible in the case that a race is cancelled. 14. No cash or other prize alternative is available, and the winner must take the prize personally unless specifically agreed in writing by the promoter. Paddock Club tickets are not transferable. 15. In the case of a prize not being claimed within 3 weeks of notification, a reserve will be selected. 16. Employees must have permission of their employer or senior manager to participate in this promotion. Entry implies acceptance of these terms and conditions. 17. Any tax liability arising from the award of the prize will be the responsibility of the recipient. 18. Name and country of the winner and details of their winning entry will be available 14 days after the closing date on the Lipper Fund Awards website. 19. Am I missing something, or, does this mean that here in the UK the prize would be to the Italian Grand Prix and not the exotic Brazilian.
