    I found this but it doesn't say who wrote the lyrics!

    The song on the King Singers album is arranged by Philip Lawson (one of the King Singers), on his web site HERE, the origin is attributed to Sting.
    I would say the required answer is Sting.

    "Bob Chilcott has been involved in choral music for most of his life. He was a chorister and choral scholar at King’s College, Cambridge, and for twelve years was a member of the vocal group The King’s Singers. "
