I am expecting a visit shortly from a bailiff (wonderful!!)
Can i "sell" all my possessions to a friend and then "rent" them back from him?
The thinking is if i can show i am not the legal/joint owner of my stuff the bailiffs cannot touch them
In a similar way to HP stuff i guess
Please can anyone help
regards

Can you not come to an arrangement to pay rather than trying to dodge them?
What kind of debt is it for as council tax and legal requirements are different to baliffs for debt companies.0 -
Hi stunner - it is very important that you are aware of your rights, before they arrive, as I doubt, very much, that they will inform you.
The first thing to remember is that they can only ebter your property by peaceful means, i.e. if you invite them in, or through an open door, or window.
They can not push past you to gain entry and 'a foot in the door' does not constitute peacefull entry.
Have a look at the following links:
http://www.insolvencyhelpline.co.uk/debt_basics/bailiff-guide.htm
and
http://www.bailiffadviceonline.co.uk
And remember to ask for proof that they are certified bailiffs.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
