Chris Rea, one of the UK's most respected guitarists and songwriters, has released a groundbreaking triple CD, double vinyl and book collection – ‘The Fabulous Hofner Bluenotes’.



It’s a double CD, triple vinyl, and book collection, containing brilliant photographs and artwork. The book weaves together a story of a young band (The Delmonts - Disc 1) playing young, fresh, vibrant music. The fictional band mature and come back later in life to form The Return of the Hofner Bluenotes (Disc 2 and 3). The music here is soulful, bluesy and trademark Chris Rea - fantastic slide guitar and stirring melodies. It’s of particular interest due to the whole way its presented. While others are going more digital, Chris is choosing to release his music in a more traditional way; focusing on the presentation of the packaging, with vinyl records, along with the added bonus of the large, excellently illustrated book, and also CDs to make it easily accessible to today’s listening needs.


The European tour that Chris is currently on, sees for the first time an artist perform as both the headliner and the support band. 'The Delmonts' will bring their late fifties style of rock 'n' roll; all songs are written by Rea and see him performing his tribute to that genre in the band, then as the headliner he will be part of the blues based 'Fabulous Hofner Bluenotes' performing many of Rea's best known songs, as well as songs from the second CD on the new release.


Chris has also just announced he is releasing the single ‘Lets Get Away’/ ‘BB Was A Comanche’ on 7” only on the 21st April, bucking the current trend for all things digital. He has also just been confirmed to appear at Glastonbury Festival for the first time.
