In addition to being Godmother to Independence of the Seas, the woman selected will also receive:

• An honorary role in the official ship naming ceremonies including participation in the ribbon-cutting and champagne bottle-smashing
• A VIP experience on Independence of the Seas' inaugural voyage
• A decade of cruising for two with Royal Caribbean International
• A formal portrait displayed onboard the new ship

udging Criteria

A role usually reserved for dignitaries or celebrities, this Godmother will be a true unsung hero - an ordinary woman who has done extra-ordinary things.
We are looking for a woman whose efforts (either voluntary or through employment) may have:

• Brought about a direct and lasting benefit to UK-based young people of 18 or under - particularly those facing the greatest disadvantages
• Created or developed opportunities for young people to become more independent and take greater control of their lives
• Made a tangible improvement to the sustainability of voluntary or community projects or resources
• Shown a desire to go beyond the call of duty and dedicate incredible time and effort to improve the health, well-being and future of young people in their community
• Demonstrated exceptional determination, spirit, courage and integrity

It will be the first time ever a search of this kind has been undertaken in the United Kingdom and an international panel of judges will review a shortlist of entries against this criteria. Please note the finalist must have a valid UK passport.
