Here comes trouble! The hilarious live-action family comedy of the year – ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS – dances on to DVD and Blu-ray on Monday 14th April from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
The family hit – featuring the adorable, mischievous chipmunks Alvin, Simon and Theodore – sees the animals running amuck in downtown Los Angeles as songwriter Dave Seville (Jason Lee) attempts to transform them into pop sensations! The out of control trio lays waste to Dave’s home, wreaks havoc with his career, and turns Dave’s once-orderly life upside down!
Despite his misgivings about his new tenants, Dave seizes the opportunity to put together his songwriting skills with the Chipmunks unique talents. Their first collaboration, ‘The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)’ becomes an overnight sensation, propelling Alvin, Simon and Theodore to superstardom, helped by conniving record executive Ian Hawk (David Cross) They revel in the rock star perks that follow: album launch parties, limos, press interviews, flashing cameras and fans! But soon Ian has the loveable Chipmunks on the verge of exhaustion. Can worldwide fame bring happiness to Alvin, Simon and Theodore?
The film stars Jason Lee (My Name is Earl) as Dave Seville, David Cross (Arrested Development) and rising star Cameron Richardson. The voices of Alvin, Simon and Theodore are Justin Long (Dodgeball, Live Free or Die Hard), Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds, RV) and actor-pop sensation Jesse McCartney. Spongebob Squarepants writer Tim Hill directs from a screenplay by The Simpsons Jon Vitti and Will McRobb & Chris Viscardi.
Alvin and The Chipmunks are a global Grammy Award winning phenomenon, delighting audiences round the world for 50 years.
