2. The competition is open to all residents of the UK aged 13 years and over, with the exception of relatives of employees of the Promoter, Livity Limited, the Promoters agencies or anyone else connected with this promotion and the immediate families of the same.
3. To enter the competition, choose a Penguin book featured on www.spinebreakers.co.uk and then create something inspired by it. Your entry can be a poem, song, video, story or drawing. Then submit this entry via the online form on www.spinebreakers.co.uk with your full name, age, email and postal.
4. Entries must be received by no later than 31st March 2008. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, illegible/inaccessible or fail to reach the Promoter by the relevant closing date for any reason and such entries will not be considered by the judges. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entrants acknowledge that the Promoter is unable to return any submitted entries.
5. Only one entry per person.
6. Some entries may be displayed online at www.spinebreakers.co.uk and all entrants agree to the possible publication of their entry (including publication on this website.)
7. A judging panel made up of members of the Promoter’s and Livity’s marketing teams will select from all eligible entries received. The decision of the judges shall be final and no correspondence shall be entered into. Judges names available on written request to the Promoter.
8. The winners will be notified by 15th April. The winners will each receive a book chosen by the Promoter.
9. The winners must claim their prizes within 30 days of the Promoter sending notification. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute runner up selected in accordance with the promotion rules.
10. The prizes are not transferable and there is no cash alternative to prizes. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative of equal or greater value. No correspondence will be entered into.
11. By entering this competition each entrant confirms that their entry is their wholly-owned creation and to the extent that such entry makes use of any third party materials or rights that these have been fully cleared unless they are no longer protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights. Each entrant will keep the Promoter harmless from any claims in relation to their entry that the entry infringes the personal or proprietary right of any other person. By submitting an entry, the each entrant acknowledges that the entries may be displayed both online and offline and grant to the Promoter a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to edit, publish, translate, modify, adapt, make available and distribute the entry throughout the world in any media now known or hereafter invented. Each entrant undertakes to complete on each entrant’s behalf any necessary documentation to formalise the licence. If entrants do not want to grant the Promoter these rights, please do not submit materials to the Promoter.
12. The Promoter reserves the right to reject or subsequently disqualify before or after the closing date, any entry that the Promoter deems to be unsuitable. This includes, without limitation, any entry from an entrant that does not comply with paragraph 11 above, and any entry the content of which is defamatory, offensive, unlawful, obscene, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, promotes political positions or actions, encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability, violates any law or is otherwise inappropriate, or contains advertisements or solicitations of business.
