ok here goes, ebay paypal question

hi there everyone, i have just found this forum today and would really like some advice

before i start with my query/worry , please dont shoot me down in flames or severly criticise me , you simply would not believe the level of debt that i am in.

basically i am having to declare myself bankrupt (with the advise of cab and another helpline)

my business has failed miserably, i put my heart and soul into it for a long time, in the meantime i was living off 7 credit cards and upped 2 personal loans, i was robbing peter to pay paul and simply cannot afforrd these debts no longer, i have took my head out of the sand and am facing up to reality.

to afford living and paying everyone, i resorted to buying and selling concert tickets on ebay( something i am not proud of i must say, but in my desperation i did this and for quite a number of months too,

the thing is even though i did this my bank acc balance was still massively overdrawn and i dont mean by £500 or so i mean thousands, so by even doing this there were no flash cars , no flash holidays no gold , nothing like this at all, the money i made from tickets were simply paying minumum payments on all loans and cc's

i understand if you want a go, but would prefer a little help.

i have filed for br

my incomings simply dont add to my outgoings

i have the br date set and realise i have to provide bank statement which i keep , in fact i have the last 6 years just so i can depress myself even more !!

what i am petrified now is that when the or sees my bank statements , he will see me paying for tickets then paypal transfers every other couple of days for sizeable amounts , all still massively overdrawn even with these transfers.

this will jump out to the or, but what can i expect from him , as i was trying to get out of debt even more , will it be seen like this , am i going to be even more bother, do i just be totally honest

please help i am petrified

rodney

    Hi Rodders,

I can't quite understand why you are so worried.:confused:

Selling tickets on ebay might be unethical in some people's minds, but it's not illeagl, unless you don't have the tickets in the first instance. It's only another way of generating income. I suppose there might be some tax implications if you were doing it on a big enough scale, but the O.R won't be interested in that.

The Enterprise Act 2002 was supposed to be a measure that ensured entrepreneurs who had failed in one business weren't prevented from starting again in another; net benefits to the economy etc etc. You're just one of many that's got it wrong, and once you've been declared bankrupt you'll be able to puy the past behind you and benefit from your experience.

    Best regards

    Richard

    Rodney,

I joined the site yesterday...now I don`t feel alone anymore after so many years of worry. I feel determined to `beat the debt` once & for all. Sounds like you are ready to do the same.

It` s great to be able to ask those questions that otherwise you feel foolish/scared asking on the phone or even worse face to face!!

Angelx Ps I`ve bought tickets on ebay ..& sold them as well !!

    Hi Rodney,

    Welcome to the board:)

Just to add, Please don't think people are going to give you a hard time, this board is here for support, and on the odd occasion a 'rogue sniper' slips through the net to dish out abuse they are usually taken out by the 'MSE Defenders' (just totally made that up! sorry).

You shouldn't worry about the ticket sales either, as you've already been reassured, it's not illegal and you were using the proceeds to pay off your debt! ... Got any Engelbert Humperdink tickets? (only joking):D

    Cheers
