Help I need a kettle

Ok I really need a new kettle as not a fan of limescale flavoured drinks. Yes I have de-scalled it several times and within a few days its back again. Not only that but now its going all lime scally around the gauge thingy on the outside!.
This is similar to the type we have at the mo so dont want it again. The gauge is near the handle.

Would it be better to get one with a water filter? Or just one with a different gauge?
Also are there any tips on how to stop getting limescale? Apart from phoning the water board and moaning as surprise surprise they dont answer there phones whenever I try.
Thank you people.

Why don't you get a separate filter than you can have filtered cold drinks - there is a thread on here today. Then you can have whatever sort of kettle you want. When I lived in the SE, I always used a filter and the kettle never needed descaling.
edit: oops, didn't mean to 'thank you' - seem to have caught 'the button'0 -
could try getting a water filter jug and using that water for the kettle."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0

Hard water area arent we!! My last kettle went kaput the other week, so I bought a tesco value one for about £6 as I simply cant be bothered to continually stress about expensive kettles getting ruined.
I think the bods on here use vinegar to descale, and probably filter the water to remove the hardness, but im sure they will advise! Im personally sticking with the cheap kettle option, and will send the water board a bill next time I have another dead kettle!

I agree Jo its awful round here isnt it. I have tried the vinegar the brown stuff as I've mentioned on preivous threads I dont have the clear
. But it just comes back and doesnt make much difference its back within a few days  .
I agree with what you are saying about the cheap kettle and billing the water company though. I didnt really think of getting a kettle and a seperate water filter thing. Just thought of buying the kettle with one in if that makes sense.
Thanks for the thank you Tm :rotfl:0 -
