If knowing that spring is just around the corner leaves you itching to step out into the fresh air to work on your fitness, then iWalking could be what you are waiting for.
iWalk is a unique members fitness club with the 60- and 90-minute classes held in the breathtaking surroundings of Richmond Park, Bushy Park and Wimbledon Common.
Using lightweight poles to work at high intensity, iWalking - or nordic walking - offers a workout for the whole body and combines the exhilaration of alpine skiing, the fitness challenges of rowing and the social aspects of tennis or rugby.
There are 12 classes per week and all include strength training using resistance bands, circuits and other objects to quickly tone up the whole body. So if the gym is too boring, studio classes too monotonous and team training too rigid then iWalking is for you.
Nordic walking works 90 per cent of your muscles (running only works 35 per cent and swimming 70 per cent) and burns up to 46 per cent more calories than regular walking. The poles reduce the stress on your knees and other joints, making it a low-impact sport.
