The exhibition at The 02 includes more than 130 treasures, all of which are 3,000 to 3,500 years old. There are 50 major objects excavated from Tutankhamun's tomb and include the royal diadem - the gold crown encircling the head of the king’s mummified body - which he probably wore in life. You'll also see the gold and precious stone inlaid canopic coffinettes that contained the king's mummified organs.

A record-breaking 505,000 tickets were sold just in just over a month prior to the exhibition’s run and organisers expect around 1.3 million visitors to visit before it leaves London.

To date, the exhibition in London has been visited by 10,000 school children, approximately 50% from the London area. The exhibition is also having a positive impact on London’s tourism industry with an estimated 20% of all ticket sales coming from outside of the UK.

Organised by National Geographic, AEG Exhibitions and Arts and Exhibitions International, with cooperation from the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, and locally sponsored by Credit Suisse, the exhibition will remain at The O2 until 30 August 2008.
