The award-winning Q-AV from Q Acoustics (5 star review in What Hi-Fi's First Tests) is the first full 5.1 surround system to use the natural contours of the average living room to hide in plain sight. The left, right and centre speakers are mounted on a sliding bracket which fits beneath your TV and can be extended like a trombone so it exactly fits to the width of your TV.
Meanwhile, the surround speakers are angled so that they fit snugly against the skirting board at the bottom of wall or against the coving at the top. Their extremely wide soundfield allows them to be placed almost anywhere in a room without loss of sound quality. The slim subwoofer can be fitted to the wall and is designed to resemble a modern slimline radiator – unlike most subwoofers, it doesn’t draw attention to itself.
It’s the first system to use Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) technology, which combines the convenience of flat speaker panels with the performance of standard cone drivers. The thin speakers, combined with Q-Acoustics’ design genius and high audio standards, allows the system to blend into the background, so you don’t see it, but you’ll certainly hear it!
