Calling all who like their events flat, fast and festive: we’re giving you the chance to win a fantastic trip for two to the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon (STWM) this autumn. The prize includes return airfare from the UK, race entry on Sunday September 28, 2008, as well as seven nights' hotel accommodation, all courtesy of www.canadian-affair.com.
Live bands and neighbourhood entertainment every two kilometres make for a tremendous atmosphere too. From the Ukrainians of Bloor West to Little India on the East End, supporters from all of Toronto’s diverse communities are guaranteed to turn out in their droves to cheer you on.
Running the marathon is almost just the half of it. A two-day Runners’ Expo, International Friendship Saturday run, carb-loading pasta dinner and post-event victory party all feature on a busy race-weekend itinerary. What’s more, you’ll even catch RW columnist John "The Penguin" Bingham hamming it up on the mike once he finishes the half-marathon.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get better - with seven nights accommodation thrown in too, you’ll have plenty of time to pack in a climb up the CN tower, a ride over the Toronto Islands, or even a trip to nearby Niagara Falls.
Good luck.:D

You’ll be joining Team GB for a magnificent race in an enchanting city. Starting in the heart of the suburbs, the out-and-back course hugs the waterfront of Lake Ontario throughout, and includes a glorious section out onto the islands of the Tommy Thompson Conservation area.
One of just four sub-2:10 North American marathons in 2007, the pancake-flat route is continuously popular among the international elite, PB hunters and first-timers alike, attracting more than 12,000 runners from 34 countries last year. Live bands and neighbourhood entertainment every two kilometres make for a tremendous atmosphere too. From the Ukrainians of Bloor West to Little India on the East End, supporters from all of Toronto’s diverse communities are guaranteed to turn out in their droves to cheer you on.
