Want the option of working out of hours in the potting shed, but don’t want the expense, hassle and guilt of installing mains lighting? Take a look at the new Solar Mate 1, an easy-to-install lighting kit which can deliver up to seven hours of energy-efficient light, illuminating approximately sixteen square metres. Its Crystalline Silicon solar cells are even able to power up in overcast weather, so it’s ideal for winter use.
The kit contains a five-watt crystalline solar panel, comprehensive fixing kit, 12-volt energy-saving light-bulb and holder, wall switch, cable, connectors, fuses and detailed instructions. It requires a 75 or 85 Ah car/caravan battery, available from motoring stores. Solar Mate 1 is exempt from Part P of the UK’s Building Regulations, and it can be safely installed by anyone.
Solar Mate 1 costs £79.99 and is available in shops or online at
www.solartechnology.co.uk, where you can also find out more about Solar Technology’s product range.
