Joey voucher = a £3 coupon printed on a cereal packet. People are using them to pay for other goods at Tesco's. However some Tesco's are now not accepting them.

    With the 150 points offer:

    150 points = £1.50

    BUT

points are wroth 4X their face value if you spend them on tesco's special deals. There are many many things you can do with these such as get MFI vouchers, eat out, hotels, holidays etc etc.

So you are really getting £6 in deals for spending only £1.98 on the beef. An amazing deal.

Plus even if you don't want the deals, clubcard deal vouchers sell on ebay for around 3X their clubcard value.

Hi Mallory. Look at the site listed above that will tell you to get extra Tesco clubcard points (You do have a clubcard or Visa with Tesco?)
If you use the Tesco credit card anywhere you get extra points on it.

A joey voucher worth £3 is a voucher cut from a packet of cereal (or various packets) I can't remember which cereals may have been shredded wheat and others.. Just look at the packets in the supermarkets. It's for the Joey CD/DVD really but some of the supermarkets will take them against your shopping bill.
Collect all money off vouchers from magazines/newspapers/free store magazines/cereal packets anywhere you see them. Sometimes a magazine will give £7/8 or vouchers if you buy the mag. Usually tips here on MSE which magazines have coupons.
Tesco clubcard points mount up with the amount you spend in there. Then you get a voucher (from Tesco) when you have so many points. Each voucher is worth 4x the value (ie a £2 Tesco voucher is worth £8 if you spend it on the Tesco clubcard deals. It's great value).
Pick up any free store mags anything you think there might be a coupon in.
Browse through the other chargeable store mags for coupons or offers while shopping and if worthwhile buy the mag.
Waitrose give their store mag free if you have a credit card with them otherwise it's £2.20. That usually has coupons in. Somerfield has a free mag and usually coupons in and some of the other stores will take Somerfield coupons (and others!).

If you get the money off coupons rejected by the cashier as they don't have to take them unless you are buying the goods, try again next time shopping and use a different cashier. They all have different policies about taking money off vouchers/coupons against your bill.

Hope this helps and happy coupon hunting!
  • Wow - that really explains a lot- thanks very much.
I must admit I usually just spend my clubcard vouchers on my weekly shop - i have never looked at the deals, but will do so from now on if they give such a good return.
Joeys I will pass on - as I dont eat cereal and neither do my dh or son -
how can I find out about the deals on offer?

Mallory. Just look around Tesco to see what offers there are. Frozen food usually has offers and extra points but you will have to spend a bit more time(oh yes!) in the store looking around. (Go in there at the quieter times if you can or midweek)

Our Tesco has a board at the entrance showing some of the special offers. Sometimes there are extra points on their petrol.

As everyone has said the clubcard vouchers are worth 4x their value if you use them on clubcard deals. Look for the little blue deals booklet.

The current Tesco store mag is in the shop too. Pick up a couple of them. It's free They have some coupons in this month.

They had Finesse cereal with the Joey coupon and it was BOGOF. Even if you don't like cereal you make £4 straightaway. ie cereal about £2 and 2 Joey vouchers on packet £3 each. (make sure the packets have the Joey £3 on.. some don't)
You can use the cereal for choc cakes. like rice crispie cakes. or pass cereal on to someone else when you have cut off the coupon. No need to open the actual cereal packet inside if you're careful.

    Hope all this helps. Maisie

Sorry searched Grabbit board as it has a time scale attached to it,didnt think it would be on shop till u drop.

Perhaps we should start a campaign for a Tescos board as there are so many things being discussed at the mo.
