La Redoute TotalCover

Options
A few years back a man phoned me and asked if I would like to take out total cover (basically an insurance if clothes got damaged they would get replaced) I asked him to send me details in the post. As well as receiving the details they applied the insurance to my account even though I had not agreed to it. Since 2003 I have paid them over £80 ( It works out that you pay a % of your current La redoute balance) My question is do you think I could reclaim this as I only asked for details I never said yes. It was back in the days when I didn't look after my money:o

I would most certainly think so If you didn't sign anything you haven't agreed to it.
  • if you haven't signed anything and not agreed to it then how dare they add this to your account (must make loads of money doing this to people). shame on them, ask for it all back and don't take no for an answer!

    grrrr! i'm annoyed for u!! ;)
Who says I have to be normal? :p
  • 2003? If you didn't want it why didn't you cancel it?? Can't really see them agreeing to refund it seeing as you've left it this long to notice.. Your best bet is to cancel it and learn from it.

  • I would probably go down the same route as PPI or bank charges. Might be worth having a look on a PPI thread and asking if the letters can be adapted to suit?

I think many people have a similar story from before their LBM! Most people don't even monitor their accounts. I had £6.99 being taken from my account for nearly a year back in 2004... I finally found out I was being charged for insurance on my phone which I never asked for. Didn't reclaim aS this was ages before my LBM!
