I agree that the question is very poorly worded, so thanks to everyone for their comments and sorry if I supplied the wrong answer x

  • Hi All.
My first post, please go easy - but a query about the question/answer to this competition.

    Am I being thick?

I read the question as asking for the name of the book, rather than the name of the author, Robert Ludlum?

ie: "What author's book is movie based on?" A: The Rhinemann Exchange ?

I must say that I was wondering about the question as well. I decided like Zaparooni that they ask about the book and not the author (...but what do I know, I'm not native English speaking!).

It's very poorly worded, but since the question gives The Rhinemann Exchange in the text, I don't think they can be asking for that as the answer.

  • Thanks everyone for your comments. I'll go with the OP's original answer, as Gilla says "The Rhineman Exchange" is already in the question.

At first approach, because of the wording, I assumed the film was named after a book with a different name.

Agreed that it is very poorly worded.

    Good Luck Everyone!

    its poorly worded.
But reading the first line it says..

Based on the gripping book by best-selling author Robert Ludlum (The Bourne trilogy),

so maybe the answer could be
    The Bourne trilogy ?

  • Thanks ukchris, it's not "The Bourne Trilogy", that's been referenced as Ludlum is famous for the trilogy from which successful movies have been already been made. ie: "The Bourne Identity", "The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum".

"The Rhinemann Exchange" is definitely the title of the book from which the movie is named.

Good idea jen.eng ! You'll cover all bases with that answer - maybe when all entries are judged they'll realise the ambiguity of the question!
