Well title a bit misleading as I haven't really saved any money as I have to pay out! anyway..........
DD needs her teeth straightened but doesn't qualify for NHS so we are paying privately.
Last appointment 3 weeks ago and they took x-rays and gave me a rough estimate of the cost and said a formal quote & appointment would be sent. I had to chase up the quote and appointment and finally received it last Friday. Opened it up and they had quoted £800 more for just the bottom than the dentist had told me in person and £400 mor for having top and bottom.
I appreciate it was only a verbal estimate I was given but it was way out so I rang and the prices were adjusted to £400 less for top & bottom and £500 less for just bottom to what was quoted. If I hadn't rung I would have been paying the written quoted figures. Glad I made that call.
I did try to get a second opinion as I'm going private but the only other localish orthodentists are NHS only.
So this summer DD will be wearing our summer holiday:D
