Famed for delivering some of the most iconic films of all time including Annie Hall, Rain Man and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and celebrated film franchises such as Rocky, Pink Panther and James Bond, United Artists (UA) - the studio built by artists for artists – is commemorating the start of its 90th Anniversary with a year long celebration of filmmaking.
2008 will also see the following renowned UA films celebrate anniversaries; Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (40th), Pink Panther (Original – 45th), Rain Man (20th), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (30th), Thomas Crown Affair (40th), In the Heat of the Night (40th), Last Tango in Paris (35th), Wargames (25th) and La Cage aux Folles (30th).
To mark the Anniversary, UA will be releasing and exhibiting a selection of exclusive, never-before-seen behind-the-scenes pictures from UA’s films, along with posters and various other promotional materials, hosting a Screening Season of classic UA Films and running a Young Film Maker competition. All will focus on UA’s rich filmmaking history to honour the films, directors, actors and music that represent the studio’s heritage.
To celebrate the United Artists 90th Anniversary, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment are offering one Borders customer the chance to win a black and white photographic print from the filming of Last Tango in Paris - Bernardo Bertolucci's 1972 cinematic masterpiece.
