Wrong Colour - Make up

Hello

I travelled to London yesterday for some retail therapy and brought some Laura Mercier Mineral Powder from John Lewis. The shop assistant applied some on for me in the shop and it looked lovely.

This morning when I opened the tub I did think that the powder looked quite dark but I applied it anyway and it looks terrible. It's darker than my skin and looks weird because after applying it my neck is quite a bit lighter!

Do you think John Lewis would be willing to exchange it after it's been opened? I still have the receipt. However, I don't really live too close to London and won't be travelling there too soon. What can I do?

Thank you in advance for your help.

HI,I've returned foundation before - after all when you buy "higher end" cosmetics your paying for the consultants expertise. I'd return it to your local john lewis and explain that the colour is wrong.

Thank you for your reply. The problem is my nearest John Lewis doesn't sell Laura Mercier. I wonder if they'll still accept the return? Ideally I would like an exchange as the one that I tried in the shop really was lovely. I don't know whether the shop assistant picked up the wrong colour or whether it was just the shop lighting playing tricks on me.

Perhaps you could try ringing customer service's - john lewis or laura mercier - you might get lucky and find that they are able /willing to help ! !
