Hmmmm, I'm a bit dubious about posting this one given all the kerfuffle Catz has been reporting with the Telegraph (ie not being able to log out and your details being displayed in some cases)

The prize is a weekend in Liverpool, including return travel and spending money - do the rewards justify the possibility of becoming a victim of identity theft?!? You decide ;)

Oh, and please alert me if in my technophobic foolishness I've posted the comp with MY details emblazoned all over it!!!

That's it now, I've finished :) It's probably already on here somewhere after all that :rotfl:

OMG!! For the first time, I noticed someone else's details on the form, and I couldn't edit because it was his account logged in!icon8.gif

Anyone know how to log someone else out, in order to enter yourself?

    Thanks in advance.icon14.gif

I tried logging Angela out but couldnt, I would be very wary of entering this comp ;)

  • Ooops, sorry.

I thought maybe this one would be okay because I couldn't see anyone's details when I entered, and when I checked the link mine had gone. But obviously I was wrong :(
  • the reason for this happening is do to people clicking the link the op has put up as this link is supposed to be unique to them as it seems to be with the jsessionid, as if you were to go on the telegraph website and not click their link then u would be presented with a diff sessionid unique to you, but seeing as the op is posting their sessionid you are getting their details and who ever else's details have been entered, hope that makes sense.

so basically if its a telegraph comp just go to the website telegraph.co.uk and enter the comp that way
  • But I posted the link, and, at least as far as I know, people weren't seeing my details, they were seeing someone elses

When the op comes up for me, it comes up with a box for my email, and password, then goes to a page to confirm my details (and my details do come up), then confirm details at bottom of page, I click this and get a thanks for entry. Thats in IE
  • I'd also like to add that I and a few other people have "won" with the Telegraph but never received either a prize or a reply to any correspondance with them regarding it...

I would be so, so happy to know how to find the comp from the homepage.icon9.gif

What you have just said sounds so plausible; however, that does not explain why, on three occasions since the OP posted, I have seen three different people's details on the page presented.

Thank you for trying to explain it.icon14.gif

Hi, I am so sorry to hear that - have you posted details in the discussion / tips thread? People might have suggestions about how to follow this up; I have seen people suggest routes for complaint / compensation on here before.

Good luck, and I really hope that you get your prize.icon14.gif

My twopennurth: I chased a comp prize worth over £250 - politely - over the phone at the beginning of January, over three months after being told I'd won. I got it very quickly afterwards...icon7.gif
