Win an incredible trip to Japan
From ancient shrines to modern cityscapes, Japan is a beguiling mix of old and new.
Perhaps the world’s most futuristic and technologically advanced country, Japan’s Blade Runner cityscapes will send your senses into hyperdrive, while its bubbling hot springs and quiet rural serenity are guaranteed to soothe them right back down again.
Here are eight distinctly Japanese experiences:
- Buy a robot in the gadget and gizmo playground of Tokyo’s Ginza
- Get naked with strangers in an onsen (hot springs)
- See the Daibatsu (Giant Buddha) shrine at the ancient capital of Kamakura
- Spy a geisha in the imperial city of Kyoto's Gion district
- Get away from it all on the natural havens that are the Goto-Retto Islands
- Party in the buzzy southern city of Nagasaki
- Go rugged in the beautiful mountainous region around Shikoku
- Compose a haiku (Japan’s 17-syllable poems) in Matsuyama
Intrepid and JAL are offering one lucky reader and a companion the chance to sample these experiences and more on Intrepid’s 14-day Lost Japan tour.
To enter the competition, just log in, answer the following question and fill in the form:
What is the name of Kyoto’s geisha district? GION:D
Gion is the most famous geisha district in Kyoto
