Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest is one of the most popular plays ever written. Subtitled ‘A trivial comedy for serious people', it is bursting with hilarious lines and extraordinary twists of fate and sparkles with the witty dialogue of its genteel protagonists.
Penelope Keith, one of Britain's best-loved actresses best known for her roles in The Good Life and To The Manor Born, was born to play Lady Bracknell!
Prim-and-proper Jack Worthing is in love with the equally prim-and-proper Gwendolyn Fairfax. His friend, Algernon Moncrieff, is in love with Cecily Cardew. But both Gwendolyn and Cecily are in love with Earnest.
We have a weekend theatre break to be won and the prize includes two top price tickets to The Importance of Being Earnest at the Vaudeville Theatre and a over night stay with pre-theatre dinner and breakfast at the 4 star The Cavendish Hotel.
Situated on prestigious Jermyn Street, in the heart of Piccadilly, London, The Cavendish Hotel offers the ultimate in luxury and convenience with some of the best views in London. In a hotel renowned for exquisite taste, you would expect the highest standards of cuisine and dining and The Cavendish London does not disappoint
