Zoo York started out primarily as a skate brand in 1993, but soon developed the love for BMX and hooked up one of the streetest teams out there to sport their gear. Based in New York City and named after a tunnel which passed under the Central Park Zoo which was heavily sessioned by the early NYC graffiti artist scene, Zoo York has deep, deep roots in east-coast USA hip hop culture, rap and street art – and now of course with pro skate teams, a surf team, a snowboard team, a motocross team, and a BMX team consisting of Edwin de la Rosa, Vinnie Sammon, and Ruel Smith, they also know what they’re doing when it comes to our scene.
