WHAT IS IT? Third album from London's nerdy bedroom-orchestrators, recording for the first time in a proper studio rather than their probably very messy flats.
WHAT'S IT LIKE? This time, the dance popsters' compulsive DIY experimenting chucks live drums, guitars and pianos to the fore along with the usual weird synth sounds and smacking of paintpots around. There are no obvious chart obliterators like 'Over And Over' this time round - but the disco charger 'Ready For The Floor' is a big bear hug of a tune. And scattered throughout the rest of the album are some brilliantly catchy pop hooks too.
SO? All up, it's a monster marrow of a grower. Subtlely soulful, darkly funny, and haring off on their own into the far future of pop, these boys should be put in charge of all British pop.
