MARVEL AS EDGE’S GUITAR headstock pokes you in the eye and Bono’s hairline recedes in real time! It’s the first ever 3D rock concert movie and the stars are U2.
Shot in South America during U2’s Vertigo tour by Catherine Owens and Mark Pellington – who have produced visuals for U2 tours since Zoo TV – it employs the largest collection of 3D camera technology ever assembled. The producers are promising an “immersive theatrical experience”, and it’s already been judged “authentically powerful” by film industry bible Variety, and they should know.
Five lucky MOJO readers (and their plus ones) could be watching the film at London’s IMAX cinema come February 13. Answer the following question correctly, in an email that reaches Editor@mojo4music.com by January 28, and you’re in with a chance. Do include your name, address and stuff.
The Edge’s “real” name is...?
a) Dave Williams
d) Dave Evans:D
c) The Ironing Board
U2 3D is on general release (well, in cinemas that “do” 3D) from February 22. For more information visit www.u23d.co.uk.
