Ooh! OH now bankrupt..

Options
Went to the High Court in London on Tuesday (Burrell says 'HI') and here's some stuff worth noting about the day.

1) Pay your fees before going to Bankruptcy office. They couldn't be further away from each other and both open at 10am.

2) The forms that you can fill in online at insolvency currently don't print all the pages when you check your drafts. Also be aware that a page (13.8 or 3.8 I think) doesn't print in the final copy. This is your specific details about your car.

3) The queue built up quickly and you'd be glad you brought some reading material. BTW the loos are all the way back down on the ground floor!

4) Swearing an oath didn't cost another £7 (thank God ;))

5) If you need to contact the Bankruptcy Offices in the High Court do so in the afternoon maybe. The phone almost constantly rang the morning I was there and not one of the staff answered it due to their workload dealing with the queue.

6) We had to wait until 2.30pm ( )to come back to hear how the Petition went. This turned out to be well after 3pm. Man I wish I had some reading material!!

7) Once we found out the result we were able to head off to the OR which was at the Insolvency Offices near New Oxford Street. If you can walk do so as the traffic was crazy that day.

8) After a hilarious situation of about 12 people trying to read their maps and being told ludicrous alternative locations of the office we finally found it. With about 20 minutes to spare. TRUST the map people.. it's a longer street than you think!

9) The Insolvency offices in London seem really geared for the last minute rush and the dressed down efficient staff were a welcome relief from the High Court's stuffiness.

10) So busy are the London office it seems they've had to forward my file to another office. New Year 2008 is definitely one where people's resolutions are sorting their finances out it seems.

Now if only the phone will stop ringing!!
