There's a lot of flippin' dental questions at the moment! What are you all doing? I'm going to start charging!!

There are times I sit in my surgery and between patients I long for a nice juicy dental question. Just now though, I'm struggling to keep up!

    Staining on crowns then!

If it is just staining it should polish off OK.

If it's little cracks starting to appear in the porcelain, and stain getting ingrained into those, then you're struggling a bit.

Crowns and bridgework lasts on average about 10-12 years. Yours will be coming up to about 20 now. It could well be that they're just coming to the end of their life and are beginning to look a bit tatty.

If they're still functional, then there's no harm in 'a bit tatty' but it might be worth starting to put a bit of money aside for the inevitable replacements as and when they arise.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
