Last weeks thread ~ http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=654567&highlight=mooziesGood afternoon lovely DFWs
Now for anyone looking in, please feel free to join - the more the merrier! Basically, decide on the amount you want to spend up to from Sunday until the end of the working day on Friday then pledge it here and off we go! The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else.
Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!!
Moozie x
welcome all... I hope you have had a great week and kept it low... and are you ready to be turned red/green? Everyone can join, just post a target in keeping with you/your debts/your spends, don’t worry about everyone else’s budgets. Then each day post on the daily spends thread and add them all up ready to post the following Saturday. The challenge runs from Sunday to the Friday... everyone welcome... please don't worry if you have gone over budget and will be turned red it happens... to me more than anyone else.

well my target was £180.00 and i spent £155.32 so i am green :j this week i am determined not to spend anything in my vendors at work. So with regards to my weekly spends its just £2.50 crickets but i am going shopping tomorrow to the Asian store and go pet supplies shopping so that will prob cost in the region of £20.00 as i bulk buy rabbit food/sawdust. So total this week lets go for £25.000

Im a newbie so havent got a update for last weeks challenge!
but im up for joining in, im going to try for £85. I take it this is just cash spends (no bills, payments to cc etc)?
Also I've got one more question, why is it Sunday - Friday? What about saturday?Debt Now~Total-£14,366.72~CC-£1,600.00~Sofa-£1,349.01~Loan-£11,417.71

I spent £15.70 this week, so I'm green.
I'd like to go for £20 again this week please, I'm also going to try and keep better track of what I spend each day - it was a bit hectic/hopeless over Christmas. I didn't overspend, but I didn't keep a note of what I spent each day either.0 -

:j welcome embarrassed. The challenge includes any spends not budgeted. So if you have a food budget of £5 a week but you spent that then needed milk for 80p you include the 80p. It includes no bills/direct debits/debt repayments. Its Sunday to Friday because the founder of the thread (moozie ~ a regular poster thats had to take some absence) decided upon this and Saturday is your 'free' day. It also allows some freedom because most of the time Saturday is peoples shopping day. However this doesn't mean if you need something you don't wait until Saturday to buy it.
This thread goes hand in hand with the daily spends thread. That one isn't always started by me though because of my work shifts. Usually each day you post what you will/have spent that day in that thread then you update your sig (if you choose to have it in your sig) with the amount over the week. So when this thread is posted either Saturday morning or evening (again depending on my shifts) you can copy and paste whats in your sig onto this thread and then update your sig with your new amount.
Anymore questions do please ask. This thread although the numbers have dwindled seems to keep many on the straight and narrow. It also helps you reassess daily if you need something rather than want it if you have to confess it on the daily thread.
take care x0 -
Hmm, I'll join it too!
I'll hopefully keep it at £50... oh wait, make it £100Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.0 -

Thanks for that. So do i dont include my petrol money then? Or my money for hobbies that i budget for seperately?

I'm hoping for a very cheap week next week. I'm hoping to spend only £5 on my lunch next Friday. I have stocked up on food for this week so can't see any emergencies there. The only thing I may need is to buy some new skiware tomorrow, as I need to go through what we have and check if we still have the right kit. If not it'll be a case of going to tkmaxx or checking ebay, but I'm hoping that I can find everything so will stick at £5.0
