E: 10/1 Win Family ticket and tour of Robot Wars Live

Robot Wars is still alive and kicking, and it's returning to Swindon once again! 2008 starts off with the unique event rolling back into town.

For the second time the Robots and TV Stars from the hit TV show Robot Wars are heading to the Swindon Oasis for an action-packed two shows on Sunday January 27.

In 2007 the event was a huge success and proved to be so popular that both shows sold out.

Since the departure of the hit TV show from our screens, Robot Wars left a hole in the hearts of hundreds of roboteers in both the UK and Europe.

The Live Events Tour has now taken over, and each year grows and grows, providing a platform for the UK roboteering scene.

The events are now promoted by Roaming Robots, which not only provide the Robot Wars Live Events with a full action packed diary for 2008, but are also heavily involved in education, providing projects and resources at schools and colleges around the UK.

Students love to be given the opportunity to build robots, and take part in events such as the one being hosted at the Oasis with the machines they have created.

This year's Robot Wars event at the Oasis will feature the new and improved battle arena, which was launched this time three years ago. You will notice some of the old favourite effects such as the arena Flipper - now refined and improved, which boasts to be able to throw robots out of the arena in one shot - blink and you will miss it. Angle grinders are fitted to the arena side walls to cut any robots which come close.

A 20kg Hammer of Doom sits waiting for any unlucky contestant whose robot is underneath at the wrong time. And of course the pit - watch out for robots disappearing down below.

With as many as over 30 mechanical monsters attending these events regularly, including robots such as the reining Robot Wars Annihilator Champion Kan Opener, Series 7 rebel Ripper, crowd favourite Dantomkia, the best of British Bull Bog Breed, current Robot Wars World Champion Storm 2, and many more. With competition fights, demonstrations, a chance to snap up some of the last official and brand new merchandise and collect autographs, this event is one not to be missed.

Show times for Sunday, January 27 are 2pm and 5pm.

If you are not lucky enough to win, ticket prices are £10 adults, £8 children, or a family ticket is £32, available from Swindon Oasis box office (01793) 445401, or the Roaming Robots box office on 07711 686222 or visit https://www.RoamingRobots.co.uk for more information and to buy tickets online.
