A chance to win a wonderful Cartoon Portrait depicting yourself, a family member or friend.
What is a Cartoon Portrait I hear you say?
It's a humorous drawing of a person but not a caricature - no derogatory facial features etc.
A realistic drawing of the subject's head and face is produced from a photograph then a cartoon style body is added and the picture is personalised by the addition of clues to the subject's job, hobbies, interest or whatever you have indicated you would like included.
1) How many working days do we need to get your Cartoon Portrait to you ?

10 working days:D
2) What 3 things do we need from you in order to create your Cartoon Portrait ?

good, clear photograph,
person's job, hobbies, interests
it says 3 things

3) Whose portrait is displayed at the top right of our examples and above?

Gordon Hodgson:confused: says on door of drawing? :rotfl:

When you have found the answers to the above three questions send them on an email to alan@cartoonportraits.co.uk
Please ensure you use the word "Competition" in the subject line of your entry.
Closing date 29th February, 2008.

Question 3 is very ambiguous, if you scroll over the picture on top right, its says Mr Marshals personalised gift. So I think I'll wait and see what others think for this one.

It looks a good prize though. My dil is 40 this year, would make a really good pressie for her.

The Question is "Whose portrait is displayed at the top right of our examples and above?"

If you click the link next to "TIP" on the competition page, it shows a group of pictures.

Click on the top right hand one, and you'll see the caricature that is on the competition page, with a profile of the subject, "ASHLEY"

Also, if you click the link "What we need", it tells you:
To Order a Cartoon Portrait you'll need to provide us with 3 things:
(1) A Photograph (which we'll return)
We need a good, clear photograph of your "victim's" face.
The body doesn't really matter much - we'll draw a cartoony one.

A full or almost full face shot is best, and the photo needs to be well focussed and close enough to clearly see the features.
We particularly need to be able to see clear details of the main features, especially eyes (including eyebrows), mouth (shape of the lips and teeth) and hair style.

If you're sending a print, the head should be no less than about 4 cm (1.5 inch) from hair to chin, but bigger if possible.

The closer your photo conforms to this ideal the better our drawing of the face will be!
If your "victim" is wearing a hat, glasses or sunglasses in the photo, these WILL appear in your Cartoon as it's difficult to guess what's underneath them. For the same reason no part of the head should be covered or hidden.

You know what the person looks like but we don't !

And we'd rather not guess.
If someone else appears in the photo that's fine, so long as we can clearly see your "victim".
If you want us to include something specific (like a uniform etc.) we'll need an extra photo showing the details.
Finally, if you're sending us a digital photo, you can send it with your Online Order Form by using the Browse button there.
To convert a print to a digital image you'll need to use a scanner - or just post us the print !
The quality of your photograph is crucial in determining the quality of your finished Cartoon.
So do please try to get as good a shot as you can.
Whilst we'll always try our very best ...
The drawing can only be as good as your photo will allow.
(2) Some "inside information"
We need this from you in order to fully personalise your gift.
Think about your "victim's" work, hobbies, interests, sporting or other leisure activities.
Think of their favourite food, drink, football team
Name and colour of their dog, cat or other pet ?
Or anything interesting or unusual.
It's up to you really.
Tell us as much or as little as you wish.
We can't guarantee to include everything but we will do as much as we can.
If you are ordering a DOUBLE cartoon, please tell us which of the people is taller.
(3) Payment
Unfortunately we do need to receive payment before starting work on your Cartoon Portrait.
We will, however, refund your payment in full should you be less than delighted with the finished product for whatever reason.
(Unless your supplying an inadequate photograph is the reason.)
Cheques should be made payable to J Taylor.

Alternatively you will be offered an opportunity to make a secure payment on-line using:

So, the answer is:

A photograph
Inside information
Payment
