Hey chunky! Welcome!!
I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice (probably more later when more people are about), but here's my tuppence worth.
Btw, probably best to stick to everything being monthly, you've got a mix of monthly and weekly there, and it might get a tad confusing!
So:
Incoming:
Your Wage: £2800 p/m (Is this right? It says £700 p/w on your original post?)
OH Wage: £450 p/m
Total Incoming: £3250
Outgoings:
mortgage : 649.00 p/m
council tax : 106.00 p/m
gas : 60.00 p/m check out uswitch to see if you can change and get this cheaper, if you can go through quidco to get cashback, kerching!
water : 30.00 p/m
elec : 40.00 p/m same as gas!
sky : 31.00 p/m altogether that's £89 a month on tv/phone and internet. you should definitely be able to get this cheaper! Sky are still doing 3 for £30, which even with bt line rental would save you nearly £50 a month, Virgin Media probably do something comparable, shop around for this, and see if you can get cashback too.
telephone/internet : 58.00 p/m see above
building/content ins : 25.00 p/m may be able to get this cheaper through uswitch?
tv licence : 11.00 p/m
barclays o/d usage fee : 15.00/pm
cc/store cards : 85.00 p/m
acc/sick/unemployment ins : 31.00 p/m may be able to get this cheaper through uswitch and have you checked the ts and cs? some of these don't cover people who are self-employed? if not change or cancel.
car finance :88.00 p/m (1,300 to go)
car ins : 25.00 p/m
tv finance :20.00 p/m (200 to go)
sofa : 60.00 p/m (660 to go)
mothercare acc :30.00 p/m (balance 700)
mobile :35.00 p/m can you reduce your tariff? ring them, perhaps threaten to leave, see if they can offer you better!
life ins :21.00 p/m
petrol : 40.00 p/m
shopping : 240.00 p/m how many is this for, check out the old style section of the forum for tips on cutting your grocery spending!
These are our joint payments now for my work payments..
Again for all of these can you use the sites above to reduce the amounts?
mobile : 35.00 p/m
van ins : 48.00 p/m
goods ins : 29.00 p/m
diesel : 400 p/m
Per month:
Total Incoming: £3250
Total outgoings: £2212
Left Over: £1038
So quite a bit left over as it seems, but then you've not counted anything for other extras like christmas, hair cuts, lunches at work (if applicable!) so probably not that clear cut.
What you need to do next really is another table with just the debts on. The outstanding amount for each and it's apr, which gives you a clear picture of which to go for first in terms of paying off (usually highest apr). If you want to do that it might help people give more specific advice, and you can probably cut your outgoings a bit if you look in to some of the suggestions above. I've only mentioned the ones I know anything about, there's plenty I don't in terms of insurance etc, but others will be able to help there!
Are you keeping money aside for your tax bill if you're self-employed? If you are earning £700 per week as you stated you should probably try and save up for this in advance so HMRC don't give you a nasty surprise somewhere along the line! If you are already that should be on as an outgoing.1st LBM (Pre-Career Change): 01 March 2006 Debt Free Date: 28 April 2008 | Worst Debt: £7244.36
