23 year-old Jack Fabian Penate, to give him his full title, hails from the leafy suburbs of Blackheath and has spent the last few years rising up through the club scene in London before signing a record deal with XL Recordings, home of many a great act including Adele, Devendra Banhart, The Prodigy and Radiohead. In April 2007, Penate shot to fame with the release of 'Spit At Stars' which Zane Lowe claimed as his Single of the Week on Radio 1. However it was the release of 'Torn On The Platform' which really saw Penate suddenly entertaining commuters and households up and down the country landing at No.7 in the charts and winning him a second Single of the Week trophy on Radio 1. As the single quickly became one of the biggest anthems of the soggy summer of 2007, the hype really began to build and when his debut album, 'Matinee' was finally released in October which landed in the album charts at No.7. All good stuff for the lad from Blackheath and with two more singles under his belt ('Second Minute Or Hour' and 'Have I Been A Fool'), a new (and very nearly completely sold out) UK tour and a hectic summer schedule ahead, 2008 looks set to be his year.

Jack Penate - Carling Gig Giveaway Competition
1. This promotion is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over except employees and their families of Coors Brewers Ltd and its agencies who are precluded from entry.
2. No purchase necessary. To enter, log onto https://www.carling.com or send your name, address, contact telephone number, date of birth and your preferred venue/gig to Jack Penate - Carling Gig Giveaway Competition, Carling.com, Coors Brewers Ltd, Trent House, 137 High Street, Burton on Trent, DE14 1JZ.
3. Entries must not be sent through agents or third parties, any such entries will be invalid.
4. Final date for receipt of entries is 9am, Thursday 31st January, 2008. The winners will be selected at random by an independent person by 6pm, Thursday 31st January, 2008.
5. The prize fund consists of 5 x pairs of tickets to Jack Penate at Carling Academy Liverpool (Feb 29th) and 5 x pairs of tickets to Jack Penate at Shepherds Bush Empire (Mar 13th) - all tickets include 3 pints of Carling or 3 soft drinks before the band's performance. 10 x winners will win a pair of tickets. There is no cash alternative to the prize.
6. Entry instructions are deemed to form part of the terms and conditions and entry into the promotion is deemed to signify acceptance of these terms and conditions.
7. The promoter can accept no responsibility for, and reserves the right to refuse, entries which are corrupt, incomplete, lost or damaged or fail to arrive by the closing date.
8. If any circumstances out of the promoter's control mean that the prize advertised is not available, the promoter will provide a prize of equivalent value.
9. The promoter's decision is binding in all matters.
10. The prize winners will be contacted by telephone by 6pm, Thursday 31st January, 2008. All prizes must be claimed within 48 hours of the winner being notified otherwise the right to claim the prize will be lost.
11. The winner's name will be available by writing to Jack Penate - Carling Gig Giveaway Competition, Carling.com, Coors Brewers Ltd, Trent House, 137 High Street, Burton on Trent, DE14 1JZ after the closing date for 28 days.
12. The winner may be requested to take part in publicity.
13. It is not the intention of the promoter to use this promotion in any way to encourage excessive consumption of alcohol. Coors Brewers is a member of the Portman Group - promoting responsible drinking.
14. These rules are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
