Hello all, I'm back...

I was a debt free wannabe in 2006 and cleard my debt. i've brought myself back here for a short while....it's not a huge amount so I hope those of you who have a long way to go don't think I'm being funny but I have a credit card bill of over £1100 this month due to varying circumstances ,Christmas, trying to be too keen to pay off my daughter's school trip early, and repairs of £150 that I wasn't expecting. I'm only going to be able to pay £500 of it off at the moment so I'm bringing myself back here until I can sort it out... I'm due £20 from quidco and I'm going to ebay anything I can find within the next week, so I'm hoping to get rid of it asap. I just wanted to make sure i don't get complacent so hello everyone!
Hope you all have a great New and finance friendly year!

Owing originally: Halifax CC £1002 tesco CC £180
now 27/12 £502 £180

  • Hi, I hope when I am eventually debt free that I can be sensible enough to spot the warning signs early, and do something about it! Welcome back, sure you will be back on track in no time x
  • Welcome back.

The unexpected expenses do happen. Well done for recognising the problem early and doing something about it.

    Keep us posted on progress.

  • Right, made my first good move. Just opened a new credit card via quidco which has already tracked at £24 and going to transfer the £502 from Halifax to there as it is 0% for 13 months. Got to pay 2.5% transfer fee but that only works out at £12.50 whereas I was looking at estimated interest of £19.99. That means next month I can clear tesco, pay off daughters holiday and not have to worry TOO much if I can't clear the other. I would like to but I think realistically it will be end of Feb.
