In 1996, Trevor Baylis won plaudits from around the world with his invention of the wind-up radio. Designed to help with Aids education in Africa the device, as its name suggests, was powered using a wind-up crank. A simple and ingenious design that allowed the device to be used without batteries and could therefore be widely distributed around the continent.

Incorporating the famous Baylis crank, which will power the device for 40 minutes of audio from 1 minute of winding, the Eco Player's can also be charged via your PC or Laptop's USB port. Fully charged, you'll get over 20 hours of music, or 10 hours of video play.

The Eco player also provides you with an FM radio, data storage, photo viewer and a built-in mono speaker. The audio recorder will not just allow voice memos, but will let you record via a line-in jack meaning that mini-discs, DAT's vinyl - anything - can be converted to MP3.[/FONT]
