Not too sure if I have posted this in the correct place?
I have asked my mum who's out in the states to pick me up a nintendo ds but somebody's mentioned that they only work in the US or that is the software should be US only. You can't put a UK game in a US console?
Has anybody come across this?

All Ninendo Ds Lites are region free. You can buy games and consoles from anywhere and they will work. I got mine from the states when I was out there - It worked out a lot cheaper for the console!0

The only difference is that you will possibly need to buy a new charger as the US one is designed to work from 110 volts and not 230 volts. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

i checked this when i was in new york( at the nintendo shop)recently and they are definately alright for over here in the uk. i bought loads of the top ds games as well and they are so much cheaper over there with the dollar being so good at the moment about 25 dollars for top games ( high school musical, simpsons etc), consoles 130 dollars0

when the DS came out I ordered one in the US and my son has used it for 2 years its fine they are the same as the ones here but cheaper due to the exchange rate0

They're definitely not region specific, but if you buy off E-Bay, you may end up with bootleg carts. You're better off buying import games etc from Amazon.com or Play-asia.0

weird how they're advertised on eBay as 'PAL' - they don't connect to a TV!!! biggest problems are warranty, charger voltage, and possibility of non-English manuals. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

For a console, why bother with the hassle, if it's going to cost about £78 from the US ($140) get a DS from John Lewis for £80 (£100-£20 discount code) with UK warranty and charger etc etc.
As for games, well.......... M3Real0
