Tesco 1000 extra points on >£50 spend on Electricals, DIY and Gardening

Note from Martin

This seems to be a cracking deal!

You can discount this further by going through cashback sites (if you don't know what those are then read 'Cutting Edge Internet Shopping Techiques' to find out more. If you're a member of the Rpoints cashback site then using this Tesco link* will earn you an extra 1.5% discount. If you're not (and if you can't be bothered) the points will go towards helping MSE.

This looks a great offer.

Assuming you spend the points on special offers (RAC cover etc), and have a Quidco account and a 1% cashback card, there is the opportunity for some great moneysaving here.

Quidco gives 2% (or 1.5% at rpoints), so there's £1 (or 75p).

Cashback CC gives another 50p.

You get 50 points on the Clubcard as normal, equivalent to £2.00.

And the 1000 extra points which is equivalent to £40.00.

So an effective £43.50 cashback (£43.25 through rpoints), meaning that your £50 spend comes in at under £7.

I'm sure it'll be possible to get a tenner off >£50 spend through a voucher as well, so potentially a £60 spend (to guarantee you still get the extra points) will cost just £6.50, or just under 90% discount.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Heading says it all. Spend £50 or more on DIY, electrical or gardening items at Tesco and earn 1,000 points in your next clubcard voucher mailing. This week only. If this is in the wrong place, feel free to move it.

    Hi Davet

I think you will find that it is £10 - however using Clubcard Deals (see Tesco site) you can turn this into £40.

already posted today by jjames so I will merge the threads. It would be helpful if you could run a search before posting to see if something has been mentioned already....although in this case all you needed to do was look a few posts down the page! :)

You'd only get 1000 CC points for a single transaction (plus £1.50 from your credit card and £2.25 from rpoints -- £3 from Quidco).

I wonder though, how many points you'd get if you made 3 £50 transactions. 3000 points?

If anyone wants to check the rules and regs of this offer you can contact the
Electrical Department directly, on 0870 60 76 060. Alternatively, you can email them at:

    Thought that might be useful.
