I csn well imagine that it is a burden to be famous. As Charlie Chaplin sadly put it: "Everyone knows Charlie Chaplin : Charlie Chaplin knows no-one."

One upside though - at least you are well-known for the right reasons!

Thanks, by the way, for saving me money. And my hat's off all the wonderful people on these forums who are facing up to their debts. You people are saving for one big celebration!

Cheers

Level ? - When someone says I knew his father!

If money saving starts to involve irritation or frustration the fine line between thrift and greed should be examined.

I was coming out of Manchester central library with my then wife about 15 yers ago, after everybody was kicked out for lunch. She said Hi to someone next to her, How Are You, etc., before we walked off. "I know I know him" she said to me. Only later that evening did she remember where from ... he was on the telly..

Ricardo Montalban (ask your mum) had 5 stages of fame:
  1. Who is Ricardo Montalbán?
  2. Get me Ricardo Montalbán.
  3. Get me a Ricardo Montalbán type.
  4. Get me a young Ricardo Montalbán.
  5. Who is Ricardo Montalbán?
