In issue 99, 3D World joined forces with Silo developer Nevercenter to give you the chance to win one of ten copies of Silo 2.0 for Mac or PC, each worth $159 (around £77 at current exchange rates).

Silo is a focused 3D modelling application with the ability to switch effortlessly between organically sculpting high-polygon models and precisely controlling hard-edged surfaces. This versatile package can be used for anything from creating 3D characters for videogames and movies to quickly exploring 3D architectural ideas.

Silo is currently being used at top studios worldwide as both a standalone design tool and as a versatile element of a multi-software 3D graphics workflow. It is a streamlined package that would suit both the professional and the hobbyist, and is available for both Windows and Mac OS.

Version 2.0 of Silo added a range of powerful new features, including high-resolution displacement painting; advanced subdivision surfaces; an advanced Topology Tool that enables you to sketch new topology over a mesh; and LSCM UV Unwrapping. To encourage creativity, the default interface in Silo 2.0 has been honed to work in a fast and predictable way, with fewer mouse clicks.
