Directory distribution, Any Good?

There is an advert in my local paper for directory distributors for the yellow Pages, just for a few days.
Has anyone done this work before? Is it worth doing or not particularly rewarding? what pitfalls?
I know you need a car, phone etc

I don't actually know what the return is on delivering Yellow Pages.
But I have noticed that it is a different lot of people that do it each time. I suspect that if it was any good, the chap with the contract would want to retain it. I live in a rural area with a low population density and not very good road signs or house numbering/naming, it's not needed as everyone knows everyone but this doesn't help the delivery chaps.
